What makes this guitar special: Previously owned by Stevie D of the rock band Buck Cherry, this Les Paul was mocked up to look like Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones' 1974 white Custom, right down to the gold Schaller tuners. The two pin-up girls on this guitar are the same ones you'll find on Jones' Les Paul, which is made by Gibson's Custom Shop. The pin-up girls are actually under the finish, meaning the top was oversprayed after they were applied. The girl on the back of the guitar, however, is a decal which can be peeled off if so desired. Just to clarify, this is a regular production model that was customized by Stevie D & is not the official Gibson Custom Shop Steve Jones Les Paul Custom. Regardless, it's an absolutely fantastic LP Custom, with magnificent tone & feel!
Cosmetic Condition: Killer looks with typical wear from being on the road & on stage - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash & weather checking. There are a couple of small finish touch ups on the bass side of the neck right where it joins the body. A bit of the gold has tarnished & worn off the pickup covers. No cracks, breaks or repairs. Overall the guitar has a cool look with a great vibe & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with cream binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. The guitar was refretted with medium jumbo frets which are in great shape with no wear. Multi-bound headstock with mother of pearl diamond inlays & Gibson logo. The original Kluson tuners were replaced with Schallers, which are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Solid mahogany body with maple cap. Multi-bound top & back. Stopbar tailpiece with Tune-O-Matic bridge & gold hardware. 5-ply black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. The strap buttons are unoriginal. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 14 oz.
Pickups: Gibson '57 Classic humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 7.96K ohms; Neck - 7.77K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black 'witch hat' knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case included.
