What makes this banjo special: A well crafted 5-String by Lo Gordon of Brevard, NC. Features an open back with a chunky mahogany neck & produces a rich, superb tone. Professionally set up by our luthier & ready to play straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Very good condition overall with some minor wear - small chip in the headstock; various nicks & dings throughout the instrument; some surface scratches.
Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with white side-dots. 19-fret ebony fingerboard with pearloid diamond inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Railroad spikes at the 7th & 9th frets. Mother of pearl rooster & stars headstock inlays. Waverly geared tuners with ivoroid buttons in perfect working condition. 1 3/8" nut width; 26 1/4" scale length.
Body: 11" diameter Remo head with maple rim & diamond marquetry. It's a bit difficult to say for sure what species of wood makes up the tone ring, but it appears to be rosewood or perhaps even walnut. No Knot tailpiece & nickel arm rest. Banjo weighs 5 lbs 12.2 oz.
