Description

What makes this guitar special: As fantastic in looks as it is sound and playability, this inexpensive Carvin solid body is a winner all-around. Its neck not only boasts nice figuring, subtle flaming, and a super slim profile, but also sports a low-friction oil or wax finish that makes it effortless to play from the nut to the cutaway. It’s electronics setup may look pretty standard with one volume, one tone, and a 5-way pickup selector, but with the addition of the “neck on” mini-toggle switch, it has the capability to trigger the neck regardless of what position the 5-way is in, meaning it adds in the possibility of a neck/bridge combo, as well as all 3 pickups on (4th position w/ neck on switch on). Plus, it’s in incredible shape for 15 years old, and includes its original hardshell case and a great setup from our techs.

Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only minor dings and light surface scratches throughout, but is otherwise in fantastic shape, especially for a 15-year-old guitar. The frets show almost no wear whatsoever and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Double cutaway lightly contoured body in Trans Blue finish. 3-ply black pearloid pickguard. Wilkinson tremolo bridge with individually adjustable saddles. Knurled chrome control knobs.

Neck: Slim C shape maple neck and ebonized fingerboard with dot inlays. Sealed chrome tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width. 25.5” scale. Low-friction wax or oil neck finish.

Electronics: Carvin AP-11 single-coils in the neck, middle, and bridge. 1 x volume, 1 x tone control. 1 x “neck on” switch. 5-way pickup selector.

Weight: 7 lbs 12.2 oz

Playability/Sound: Between the low-friction finish on the neck and its slim profile, it plays near effortlessly from the nut to the cutaway. The AP-11s have an absolute ton of mid-range character from the neck to the bridge, and with the additional “neck on” mini-toggle switch, combinations like neck/bridge and all three pickups on adds an additional tonal dimension not covered by a standard 5-way switch.

Case: Includes original hardshell case.
