Description

What makes this guitar special: This is a wonderfully resonant Samick hollow body with equally great tone and playability. The body itself displays gorgeous figuring between the cuts of quilted maple used for the back and sides, each of which is slightly different in hue, giving it a distinct yet complementary color scheme, especially when you add in the aged binding and rich yellow top. The pickups carry many of the inherent acoustic characteristics of its construction, with a big, full and warm response in the neck and smooth yet articulate bridge, all of which has the traditional dry and woody tone hollow bodies are known for. Outside of some finish checking and a few marks here and there, it is also still largely in great shape, especially for its age, so it still looks almost as good as it plays and sounds.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does show various small dings, dents, chips, scuffs, scratches, and other forms of aging and wear such as finish cracks (there is one that runs the length of the treble side that stems from the jack and a few others here and there) and hardware tarnish, but for a 15-year-old guitar, its still in pretty great shape. There is a small chip in the nut just to the left of the A string but doesn’t affect playability. The frets show only light wear and still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Single cutaway hollow body with a spruce top and quilted maple back and sides in Natural finish. Multi-ply top and back binding. Compensated adjustable rosewood bridge. Bi-level metal tailpiece. Bound F-holes. 3-ply raised black pickguard. Gold top hat control knobs.

Neck: Slim to medium depth C shape maple neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. Gold Grover tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width. 25.5” scale length.

Electronics: Gold humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.

Weight: 7 lbs 9.5 oz

Playability/Sound: The neck on this guitar plays easily with a comfortable and familiar slim to medium depth C shape. The pickups are big, full, and warm across the board, with a bit more robust low end in the neck position and a bit more crisp chime in the bridge, all of which has the classic mild sustain and woody character hollow bodies are known for.

Case: Includes hardshell case.
