Description
What makes this guitar special: Gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood back & sides, beautifully book matched with lots of character & variegation in the wood. The solid sitka spruce top compliments the Brazilian marvelously & the the abalone appointments really make the guitar sparkle. The guitar originally came with a Fishman preamp, but was sent back to Taylor at some point to be retro-fitted with the Low Profile Expression System. Professionally set up by Cream City Music, the guitar plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape overall with only some minor wear - various nicks & dings; mild surface scratches. There's a fairly good sized dent in the back of the neck right where it joins the headstock. It's not in a playing position so you don't really feel it. There's a small area of finish discoloration in the treble side of the body near the neck joint. Not quite sure what's going on there, but it's purely cosmetic & does not affect playability or sound quality.
Neck: Mahogany neck with ivoroid binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl inlays. Frets show some wear, but still have plenty of life in them. Bound headstock with ebony overlay. Grover Rotomatic tuners with ebonoid buttons in perfect working condition. 1 3/4" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Single-cutaway, dreadnought body with ivoroid binding on the top & back. Solid sitka spruce top with abalone purfling. Ebony bridge & end pins with abalone inlays. Black pickguard & abalone rosette. Solid Brazilian rosewood back & sides. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 1.6 oz.
Pickup: The original Fishman preamp was replaced at the factory with a retro-fitted Taylor Low Profile Expression System. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
