Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a simple and solid SG with excellent playability, great tone, and a nice look. The 490 humbuckers have great response across the board, starting with a chunky yet articulate neck and crisp chime in the bridge. The neck has a thicker feel than most modern models, which will be absolutely perfect for players who prefer more of a full in-hand feel. The satin finish is much easier to keep clean than gloss and even at almost 15 years old, still looks great head to toe.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only minor nicks, dings, dents, and light scratches, but is otherwise in fantastic shape for a guitar that’s nearly 15 years old. The frets show only light wear and still have a ton of life left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Double cutaway edge-contoured mahogany body in Worn Cherry finish. 5-ply black pickguard. Chrome Tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. Black top hat control knobs with silver inserts.
Neck: Medium depth D shape mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard with crescent moon inlays. Vintage-style Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with cream keystone keys. 1 5/8” nut width. 24 ¾” scale length.
Electronics: 490R humbucker in the neck and 490T humbucker in the bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 6 lbs 13 oz
Playability/Sound: The neck on this guitar has a little chunkier feel than the SlimTapers most similar models come equipped with today, but for anyone who likes a bit more full in-hand feel, this will be perfect. The 490s have a ton of chunk and articulation in the neck and bridge respectively.
Case: Includes hardshell case.
