Built in the transition period between the closing of the Westerly plant and the opening of the Tacoma plant, these Corona built Guilds manufactured in the Fender factory have an cult following and are deservedly building in reputation. You’ll see why when you get your hands on this jumbo. It’s been well-loved and well-played, and for good reason. It’s an absolute cannon, with a thunderous sound and breathtaking projection. Cosmetic condition: Used but not abused, with some standard wear & tear throughout. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, with several areas of finish checking. There is some finish wear and shrinkage along the fingerboard edges, along with a single spot where the finish has been touched up above the 12th fret. The body shows a smattering of chips in the clear coat as well, along with visible pickwear on the top.
Body: Double bound solid maple sides with solid spruce top and arched maple back in cherry finish. Single ply black pickguard and rosewood bridge with white bridge pins. Multi-ring ivoroid rosette and black/white purfling. 17” lower bout width, 4 7/8” depth.
Weight: 6 lb, 4.2 oz
Neck: D-shaped maple neck with black center stripe. Pearl side dots and pearl dots inlays. Black headstock overlay with pearl Guild logo and scepter. Fender logo on the back of the headstock. Gold Grover tuners work great. 1 3/4" nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight and truss rod is functional.
