Description
Condition: This is a well-played guitar with a great feel and sound. There are scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout the instrument. Many of the surface scratches have resulted in a slightly hazy appearance in the finish in some areas. Some of the metal parts have some corrosion. There are small dings throughout the body and some heavy buckle rash on the back. There are plenty of pick scratches on the pickguard. The control labels have worn away almost entirely and the silver insert is missing from one. There has been solder work done and the original pickups have been replaced with Zack Wylde EMG humbuckers. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear. The neck is very straight and the truss rod functions fine. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid Flying V shaped body in black finish. Stop-Bar Tailpiece, Tune-O-Matic bridge, skirted control knobs with silver inserts and a 4-ply white pickguard.
Neck: Slender neck with rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Vintage-style Gibson Deluxe tuners, 24 ¾” scale length. 34 ¾” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Active EMG humbuckers in the neck and bridge with dual volume controls, a master tone control and a 3-way selector switch.
Weight: 6lbs, 5.0oz.
Playability/Sound: The EMG pickups on this guitar give it plenty of output, sustain and a searing lead tone. The slender neck is very comfortable and suitable for fast, smooth playing. Gibson is not currently producing the Flying V so these are becoming a little harder to find.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
