Description
What makes this guitar special: First of all, you don’t see very many '58 Longhorns in this finish floating around. Secondly, for the money, this is one of the best playing and sounding basses on the market, not to mention it has way more character than most others at this price point. The classic lipstick pickups offer a very defined character, yet still provide a wonderful tonal range. The neck pickup has a bit fatter low end response, while the bridge has a little more punchy, woody character. Both pickups have nicely tailored top end articulation as well. The bass is nice & light, and the neck to weight ratio makes it just as easy to play standing as it does sitting. Smooth action & cool, vintage styling - overall this is just a fabulous bass!
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape overall with very little play wear - a few minor nicks & dings along with mild surface scratches. For the most part she's very clean!
Neck: Slim to medium D shape neck with rosewood fingerboard & pearloid dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Coke bottle headstock with vertical Danelectro logo. Sealed chrome tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8” metal nut; 30" scale length. The neck plays great head to toe and should be an easy adjustment for most players used to regular or long scale basses. Perfect for guitarists who like to dabble on bass.
Body: Longhorn masonite body in Black Burst sparkle finish. The extra deep cutaways provide great upper-fret access. Top-loading bridge with four individually adjustable saddles. Clear plexi pickguard. Bass weighs 6 lbs 5.7 oz.
Electronics: Danelectro Lipstick single coils. Dual volume & tone controls with concentric brown & cream control knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition. The pickups sound great, with a bit more low end response in the neck and more dry, woody vintage tone in the bridge.
Case: Padded gig bag included.
