Description

What makes this guitar special: Extremely clean for its age and sounding just as nice, this Martin D-35 is perfect for someone who is looking for a dreadnought that’s already begun being broken in tonally, yet still looks nearly brand new. Its overall tonal response starts with a robust low end that seems to have a bit of extra warmth from its time being played. This extends into a meaty midrange with a good amount of body without being too commanding, which is quite a feat for a body shape traditionally known for its boxy midsection. The high end is crisp and articulate, yet sounds like it has developed a little extra sweetness to boot. The cut of rosewood used for the back look fantastic and show excellent variegation, especially contrasted against the lighter, more tamed piece used for the middle. The top has also aged a bit, giving it a touch of vintage vibe with its warm yellowed look. All in all, this is a fantastic Martin top to bottom, and even includes its original hardshell case and a professional setup so it plays as great as it sounds.

Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. Outside of a few minor dings and light surface scratches here and there, it is in fantastic condition for a guitar that’s over 10 years old. The frets show only light wear and still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Double bound dreadnought body with a solid Sitka spruce top and East Indian Rosewood side and 3-piece back in Natural finish. 3-ring rosette. Black teardrop pickguard. Ebony bridge and compensated saddle. White bridge pins with black dots.

Neck: Slim to medium depth C shape mahogany neck and bound ebony fingerboard with large dot inlays. Chrome sealed tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width. 25.5” scale. .85” deep at the first fret and 1.03” deep at the 12th fret.

Weight: 4 lbs 10.5 oz

Playability/Sound: The neck is a classic shape and should be an easy player for most. The overall response of this guitar is fantastic from head to toe. It has a robust low end and a meaty midrange that isn’t too commanding, which is impressive for a standard dreadnought body. The top end is clean and crisp with a sweetness that likely stems from its age.

Case: Includes original hardshell case.
