The flame maple figuring in the back of the body & neck is truly stunning & really pops against the natural finish of the guitar. This gorgeous Wes Montgomery came to us from a privately owned, 20-piece collection that we just recently acquired. Every piece in the collection was in pristine condition & this beautiful guitar was no exception.
Cosmetic Condition: Superb condition & aside from a few minor surface scratches, it looks brand new. The gold hardware is very strong on the guitar & has not tarnished aside from a bit on the tailpiece. There are some light surface scratches on the pickup cover & pickguard. The guitar was well cared for & has been professionally set up by us with fresh strings & low action, so it play perfectly.
Neck: Very comfortable flame maple neck with multiple binding & black side dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Frets are in perfect shape with no wear. Multi-bound headstock with mother of pearl Gibson & floral pot inlays. Gold Gibson tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Rounded cutaway with bound F-holes. Solid spruce top with 7-ply binding. Solid, flame maple back & sides with 3-ply binding. Trapeze tailpiece with engraved L-5 Wes Montgomery logos Tune-O-Matic bridge on a floating ebony base with mother of pearl inlays. Tortoise pickguard with 5-ply binding. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 3.3 oz.
Pickups: Gibson '57 Classic Humbucker with gold cover & black bezel. 8.01K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with Certificate of Authenticity & case candy.
