Description
What makes this guitar special: There are few guitars more satisfying to play than a broken-in Martin with great range and this D-28 is no different. It sounds like it has already started to open up and mature, giving it a slightly more tenured sound than those that are brand new. Its rosewood back and sides provide a fantastic low-end response that bellows without getting muddy or losing any power. The mid-range is warm and mild and the top end is crisp and articulate. In terms of condition, outside of various light love marks throughout from being played, it is still in great shape and still sounds excellent and plays beautifully, so if you’re looking for a nicely broken-in D-28 for almost a grand less, look no further.
Condition: This Martin is in very good condition overall. It does possess various nicks, dings, dents, scuffs, and scratches, but is still in great shape for a used guitar. The frets show only light wear and still have a ton of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning.
Body: Dreadnought body with multi-ply bound spruce top and bound Indian rosewood back and sides. Three ring rosette. Black teardrop pickguard. Ebony bridge and compensated saddle. The bridge was pulling up when we acquired the guitar, so our luthier professionally reglued it.
Neck: Medium depth C shape neck and ebony fingerboard with figured dot inlays. Closed-back chrome Martin tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width.
Weight: 4 lbs 11.1 oz
Playability/Sound: Easy and comfortable playing neck. The body is marvelously resonant and thanks to its rosewood back and sides in combination with its dreadnought body produces excellent low end response that bellows and sustains beautifully. The mid-range is mild and warm and the top end is nice and crisp, all of which has opened and matured a little bit.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
