Description

What makes this guitar special: A simplified variation of the traditional Jazzmaster setup, this Blacktop provides a bit fuller tonal profile than the standard soapbars. It was originally an HS model, but with the humbucker in the neck, is now technically an HH. The neck is equipped with an ungraded Curtis Novak Wide Range pickup which is perfectly warm and creamy with great throwback tone. The Duncan in the bridge is brighter with more articulation and a touch more bite to it. It is devoid of the second tone circuit and centers around its simple single volume and single tone, making it much easier to get dialed in. Other than that, it’s still a great-playing Jazzmaster that’s in great shape and comes with a professional setup to boot.

Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only various light surface scratches, small dings, minor finish chips and a few other signs of light wear, but is otherwise in fantastic condition for a used guitar. The frets show only very light wear and still have a ton of life left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions perfectly.

Body: Offset contoured alder body in 3-Color Sunburst finish. Vintage-style adjustable 6-saddle bridge with floating tremolo. Black witch hat control knobs. 3-ply black pickguard.

Neck: Medium depth C shape maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. Fender chrome sealed tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width. 25.5” scale. .85” deep at the 1st fret. .92” deep at the 12th fret.

Electronics: Curtis Novak Jazzmaster Wide Range (bridge) pickup in the neck and Seymour Duncan SH11 humbucker in the bridge. 1 x volume, 1 x tone control. 3-way pickup selector.

Weight: 8 lbs 2.8 oz

Playability/Sound: Easy-playing C shape maple neck should be familiar, or if nothing else, a quick adjustment for most players. The Wide Range in the neck is super warm and creamy with a classically rounded upper midrange and the Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge is a bit hotter and brighter.

Case: Includes hardshell case.
