Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a simple but great throwback Les Paul with solid tone and playability. The combination of the 490R and 498T in the neck and bridge respectively provide a good amount of tonal range from the chunky and full neck to the crisp bite of the bridge. The neck plays easily at length and with the setup we’ve given it, plays that much better. The Gold Top Dark Back finish looks fantastic and is still in great shape barring a few minor marks throughout, providing great value for a used piece. It’s a solid player through and through and will be a great workhorse to add to just about any roster.
Condition: This Les Paul is in excellent condition overall. It shows only light scratches, pinhead-sized finish chips which are mostly around the body edges, and some oxidation of a few of the screws, but is otherwise in great shape for a used guitar. The tuning machine key for the G string shows a crack, but is stable, shows no movement, and operates just fine. The frets show only light wear and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Single cutaway mahogany body with a carved maple top in Gold Top Dark Back finish. Chrome Tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. Gold top hat control knobs with silver inserts. Single-ply raised cream pickguard.
Neck: Medium depth Studio 50s rounded mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. Vintage-style Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with opaque keystone keys. 1 11/16” nut width. 24.75” scale.
Electronics: 490R Alnico II humbucker in the neck and 498T Alnico V humbucker in the bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 8 lbs 2.6 oz
Playability/Sound: The rounded 50s neck plays easily and should be familiar to a wide variety of players. The 490R in the neck is chunky and warm with a full response and the 498T is crisp with great bite.
Case: Includes original gigbag.
