Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a limited run Epiphone ES-335 PRO that was only produced for about a year. It features a pair of Alnico V Classic PRO humbuckers that sound great across the board. The neck has a warm and full response while the bridge has excellent vintage jangle with still-present mid-range body. Each of these can be thinned out to single-coil sounds with help from the push/pull coil-tapping volume pots as well. The natural maple grain pattern looks great under its Cherry finish, of which is still in fantastic shape and very clean for a used guitar, making it a solid all-around package.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only minor dings, dents, scuffs, and light scratches, but is otherwise in great shape for a used guitar. The frets show only light wear if any, and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Double-bound double-cutaway semi-hollow body with laminated maple and birch top, back, and sides in Cherry finish. 4-ply raised black pickguard. Chrome Tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. Black top hat control knobs.
Neck: 60s SlimTaper D shape mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with small block inlays. Vintage-style tuning machines with green tulip keys. 1 5/8” nut. 24.75” scale length.
Electronics: Epiphone Alnico V Classic PRO humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge. 2 x push/pull coil-tapping volume controls and 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 7 lbs 10.3 oz
Playability/Sound: The SlimTaper 60s neck actually has a relatively full feel for its width and as it approaches the nut, ends up a nice blend of a C and D shape. The Alnico V Classics sound great, with a warm and full response in the neck and great vintage-sounding jangle in the bridge, both of which can be thinned out to single-coil sounds thanks to the push/pull coil-tapping volume controls.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
