Description
What makes this guitar special: A superb player with some interesting & unique features that make it stand out among other SG models. To begin with, the word "Prototype" is stamped into the back of the headstock, perhaps indicating an early pre-production model. The 50's Tribute script logo on the truss rod cover hints to the pair of P-90 "soap bars" & medium profile neck. The satin black finish gives the guitar a very sleek appearance. Professionally set up by our luthier with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds amazing.
Cosmetic Condition: Very good condition overall with some minor blemishes - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some finish touch-ups. There's a small crack in the very top corner of the headstock, bass-side flange. The crack is purely cosmetic & does not affect playability or sound quality. There are also a couple of very small stress cracks on either side of the neck extending from the nut to the second fret. The cracks are superficial & appear only in the surface of the wood/finish.
Neck: Medium-profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Grover Rotomatic tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany body. Stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 11.3 oz.
Pickups: P-90 "soap bar" single coils with black covers. Bridge - 7.94K ohms; Neck - 7.57K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Padded gig bag included.
