What makes this guitar special: A gorgeous, limited edition Gibson released in 2013 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Firebird model. Finished in all gold with anniversary pickugard. Lightweight & very resonant with a pair of killer sounding mini humbuckers. Professionally set up by Cream City Music with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds great!
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition overall with a few small finish chips along the edges; some minor nicks & dings; mild surface scratches.
Neck: Mahogany neck with cream binding & black side-dots. Beautiful, dare rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are in perfect condition with no wear. Reversed headstock with Steinberger gearless in-line tuners (40:1 tuning ratio). 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Neck-thru design with solid mahogany wings. Stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge with gold hardware. Gold nitrocellulose finish & a black pickguard hot-stamped in gold with “50th Anniversary 1963-2013” and the traditional Firebird phoenix. The guitar is very lightweight for a Firebird at only 7 lbs 11.1 oz.
Pickups: Gibson Firebird Mini Humbuckers. Loaded with ceramic magnets and wound with 44 AWG wire in the neck position and 45 AWG wire in the hotter bridge position, these dual-blade humbuckers achieve classic Firebird tone with added punch and clarity. Bridge - 22.97K ohms; Neck - 13.68K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with Gibson paperwork. The words "New Meds" are spray painted on the outside of the case.
