Description

What makes this guitar special: One of the most notable models of the Rickenbacker line and based on a 1957 design, this 381V69 features attention to detail as fine as its revered Toaster Top pickups. Although many earlier models were built with birdseye maple, contemporary versions most commonly feature flamed maple like this one, with perfectly even figuring gracing every inch of it. Both the top and back are hand-carved, adding another level of detail that few other models ever seen. It comes loaded with a pair of Toaster Top single-coils, which output copious amounts of timeless Ric tone, from the warm smooth low-end pop of the neck to the ultimately classic vintage jangle of the bridge. Plus, this guitar is still in outstanding condition for being used, comes with its original hardshell case, and a professional setup so it plays great right out of the case.

Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows very few signs of wear outside of light surface scratches and a minor ding here or there, but is otherwise incredibly clean for a used guitar. The frets show almost no wear whatsoever and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rods function as they should.

Body: Double cutaway, double-bound semi-hollow body with flamed maple carved back and top and maple sides in Mapleglo finish. Two-tiered white plastic pickguard. Fixed bridge with adjustable saddles and chrome Rickenbacker R tailpiece.

Neck: Medium depth C shape walnut and maple neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with triangle inlays. Vintage-style Ric Deluxe tuning machines. 1 5/8” nut width. 24.75” scale. .90” deep at the 1st fret and .92” deep at the 12th.

Electronics: Vintage single-coil Toaster Top pickups. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls, 1 x blend control. 3-way pickup selector. Dual-output Ric-O-Sound.

Weight: 8 lbs 3.2 oz

Playability/Sound: The medium depth C shape neck plays easily from the nut up into the cutaway and should be a familiar feel for most players. The Toaster Top pickups sound fantastic in all three positions and with the given controls can range from full, low-end pluckiness to classic vintage jangle.

Case: Includes original hardshell case.
