What makes this guitar special? From the extremely distinct finish to the playability-minded features, this Suhr Modern Pro M5 is a solid guitar head to toe. It is composed of a beautifully contoured African mahogany body, topped with flame maple, and finished in Faded Trans Whale Blue Burst which is quite possibly the most gorgeous and aptly named finish we’ve ever seen. The combination of pickups provides a full range of tone from a rich, full humbucker, to a clean, mild single-coil, to a hot and bright bridge. With 1 volume, 1 tone and a 5-way pickup switch, it’s simple to get everything dialed in, but if you’re a sucker for massive tone and even simpler controls, just pop the Blower switch to bypass all the guts and pump the high-output bridge pickup straight to the output jack. Add in a Floyd Rose bridge that provides incredible tuning stability and you’ve got yourself quite a masterpiece. Whether you’re more into the belly cut or the aesthetic that looks like it’s been cut from the belly of a whale, the exceptional sound and design of this guitar will definitely leave you feeling like you bagged a big one.
Condition: Overall, this Suhr Modern Pro M5 is in excellent condition and plays just as well. It does have various minor surface scratches, a majority of which reside on the back plate and tuning machines, as well as an 1/8” ding in the lower back, but all in all, still constitutes a very clean figure. The neck is straight and truss rod functions perfectly. The frets barely show any wear and still have a ton of life left in them.

Neck: Bolt-on African mahogany neck with modern elliptical shape (.800-.850). 10”-14” radius dark Indian Rosewood fingerboard, with 24 Jumbo SS frets. 1.650” nut width. Suhr locking tuning machines.
Electronics: SSV Zebra Humbucker in the neck, Black ML Standard Single-Coil in the middle, SSH+ Zebra Humbucker in the bridge. 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob. 5-way pickup selector and Blower switch.

Playability/Sound: The slim profile on this Modern Pro is very comfortable up and down the neck and features a nice rounded heel for extra high-fret access. The combination of pickups gives a fantastic range of tone from thick humbucker tone (neck) to mild and easy (middle) to bright and hot (bridge). Plus, if you are looking for a no-frill all-thrill tone setting, just pop in the Blower switch to bypass everything and put the high output bridge pickup straight to the output jack.
