Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a lovely Loriente Carmen Negra Flamenco guitar. Handcrafted in Spain, this guitar’s craftsmanship and attention to detail certainly lives up to the country’s rich legacy of classical and flamenco guitar building. Featuring solid Indian Rosewood and solid Engelmann Spruce construction, the guitar has a deeper, more rounded tone than its Spanish Cypress counterpart, but still maintains the quick attack and punch of traditional flamenco instruments with enough projection to cut through the mix, and if you need to plug in, the K&K pickup accurately translates the wonderful acoustic sound through an amplifier as well. Featuring a professional set up from our in house tech, the guitar is guaranteed to play great right out of the case.
Condition: The guitar is in excellent condition overall. It does display some light surface scratches and a few small dings on the back, as well as playing marks typical of flamenco guitars, but they are light and don’t detract from an otherwise very clean used instrument. The frets are in excellent shape and have plenty of playing life left. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions perfectly.
Body: Classical-sized body with solid Indian Rosewood back and sides and bound Solid Engelmann Spruce top in a high gloss natural finish. Inlaid wood mosaic rosette. Indian rosewood bridge with bone saddle and bone inlaid tie block. Flamenco-style Spanish fan bracing. Dual clear Flamenco tap plates.
Neck: 12 frets to the body Spanish cedar neck with a medium thickness U shape profile (.85” at the 1st fret, .89” at the 9th fret). Unbound ebony fingerboard with no front facing inlay or side dot position markers. Slotted headstock with Gold Gotoh tuners and ivory-style buttons. 2 1/16” nut width and 25.6” scale length.
Electronics: K&K Pure Mini passive soundboard transducer pickup system.
Weight: 3 lbs. 6.7 oz.
Playability/Sound: The medium thickness U shaped neck is very comfortable and easy to play. The 2 1/16 inch nut width and wider string spacing allows for easy chording in the first position as well as intricate single note playing without your fingers feeling crowded. The Engelmann Spruce top is remarkably sensitive to even the lightest fingerstyle playing, but can still produce a large amount of volume and projection when pushed. Paired with the Indian Rosewood back and sides, this is one incredibly punchy sounding classical/flamenco guitar with tons of bite.
Case: Includes original hard shell Protégé humicase.
