Description

What makes this guitar special:  This exceptional example of a 1957 Les Paul Goldtop, Collector's Choice #12, is a direct recreation of the original owned by Henry Juszkiewicz, CEO of Gibson Brands.  Its tone is sweet, thick & mellow, owed to a unique balance between the bridge & neck pickups, both of which exemplify a slightly lighter wind than the average.  Its neck profile is on the "cheekier" side, with a definitive late '50s profile, the likes of which is the benchmark of "That Les Paul" feel.  Its aging, which is recreated beautifully & by hand at the Custom Shop, is the archetype of vintage Goldtop, with a slightly green caste in its bronze, subtle darkening in the lacquer checks & wear patterns that tell the story of a guitar that has been both played & cared for throughout a lifetime.

Cosmetic Condition:  Purposely "aged" at the factory to give it that well-worn, vintage look - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, aged hardware & finish wear.

Neck:  Semi-chunky, one-piece mahogany neck with aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots.  Single layer, solid rosewood fingerboard with celluloid trapeze inlays.  The fingerboard has a beautiful, dark chocolate color to it.  Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear.  Holly Head veneer headstock with pearl Gibson inlay.  Kluson Deluxe tuners with "greenkeys" in perfect working condition.  1 11/16" nylon nut; 24 3/4" scale length.  Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.

Body:  One-piece, solid mahogany body with plain maple top finished in Antique Gold.  Lightweight aluminum Stopbar & ABR-1 bridge with nickel hardware.  Single-ply cream pickguard & jackplate.  Guitar weighs 8 lbs 7.8 oz.

Pickups:  Gibson Custom Buckers with nickel covers & cream bezels.  Bridge - 7.12K ohms; Neck - 7.16K ohms.  Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch.  The original "bumble bee" pots were changed to Gudeman by the previous owner.  All electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case:  Original hardshell case included along with COA.
