This gorgeous Wes Montgomery L-5 has been professionally inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so it plays & sounds fantastic! Gibson rarely produces these archtops & with this one being in such marvelous condition, it's a definite must-have for any serious collector or player.
Cosmetic Condition: Wonderful condition & looks practically brand new. There is a very tiny lacquer check in the top near the bass side waist & there are mild surface scratches throughout, but overall the guitar is exceptionally clean.
Neck: Nicely rounded, 5-piece flame maple neck. Multi-bound ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays & black side-dots. Frets are in perfect shape with no wear. Multi-bound headstock with mother of pearl Gibson logo & floral pot inlays. Custom L-5 truss rod cover. Gold Gibson tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Single cutaway archtop with bound F-holes. Carved, solid spruce top with 7-ply binding. Art Deco tailpiece with L-5 & Wes Montgomery engravings. ABR-1 bridge on a floating ebony base with mother of pearl inlays. Tortoise pickguard with 5-ply binding & gold hardware. Solid flame maple back & sides with 3-ply binding. 17" lower bout width; 3 1/2" depth. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 5.5 oz.
Pickups: Gibson '57 Classic Humbucker with gold cover & black bezel. 7.86K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with amber "top hat" knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with the Custom Shop Crimson Certificate of Authenticity & Gibson Warranty Registration.
