Description
What makes this guitar special: This ultra cool SG was a Guitar Center exclusive with two very unique features - one being the very beautiful Desert Burst finish and the other is that both humbuckers can be coil tapped, with each volume knob being a push/pull. Tone & feelwise this guitar has all the hallmarks of the '62 spec SG, with the wider, flatter neck & small black pickguard. Professionally set up by our luthier here at Cream City Music so the guitar plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition overall - a few minor nicks & dings; mild surface scratches & light buckle rash on the back of the body. Small chip in the finish near the back plate. The back of the neck has had some of its glossiness taken out so it feels a bit smoother when playing, but this can be buffed out if so desired.
Neck: Wide mahogany neck with cream binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany body in Desert Burst finish. Stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge with chrome hardware. 5-ply, small black pickguard has some scratches, but no cracks. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 4.7 oz.
Pickups: Gibson '57 Classic Humbuckers with coil taps. Bridge - 7.80K ohms; Neck - 7.79K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
