Description
What makes this guitar special: Very clean and a great player from head to toe, this PRS S2 Standard is a fantastic workhorse with solid tone. Its satin Cherry Sunburst finish does a great job not only letting the natural mahogany grain beneath shine though, but adds a bit of texture, in contrast with the super-smooth look of gloss finishes, and is at least twice as easy to keep clean. The Vintage Bass humbucker in the neck has a perfectly full response with classic warmth and good range and is well-complimented by the HFS Treble humbucker in the bridge, which rounds out its tone with bright, crisp bite. The controls are intuitive, the neck is familiar, and the well-executed contours and cutaways provide endless amounts of playability.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only light surface scratches and a small ding here or there, but is otherwise in fantastic condition for a used guitar. The frets show barely any wear at all and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions perfectly. Does not include tremolo arm.
Body: Double cutaway contoured mahogany body in satin Cherry Sunburst finish. 3-ply black pickguard. PRS clear and black speed knobs. PRS-designed tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles.
Neck: Medium round C shape “pattern regular” mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. PRS S2 locking tuning machines. 1 5/8” nut width. 25” scale.
Electronics: PRS S2 HFS Treble humbucker in the bridge and PRS S2 Vintage Bass humbucker in the neck. 1 x volume, 1 x tone control. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 7 lbs 5.9 oz
Playability/Sound: The medium round “pattern regular” neck very easy to move around between its familiar C shape and satin finish. The Vintage Bass pickup is warm and round with a nice and full response while the HFS Treble in the bridge provides a hotter, crisper response with a little bite to it.
