Description
What makes this guitar special: For anyone who hasn’t sat down with one of these guitars yet, it’s time. For the money, there are few guitars on the market that sound this good and boast such excellent stability too boot. The overall response is a bit surprising, as its volume ceiling and lively response exceed just about all others of its size, build, and price tag. The low end is decent, but the mid-range is the real prize. It is rich on both ends as it extends both into the lows and highs, without the overly boxy sound of a dreadnought. The high end is truly Taylor, with ceaseless articulation and crisp response even with aggressive playing. If the sound wasn’t enough, this guitar is also super clean for being used, providing great all-around value for the price.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only a few light surface scratches and a ding or dent here and there, but is otherwise incredibly clean. The frets show almost no wear whatsoever and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Grand auditorium body with layered sapele back and sides and a sitka spruce top in Natural finish. Black binding. Three-ring rosette. Black pickguard. Ebony bridge with compensated saddle and black bridge pins.
Neck: Soft V shape sapele neck and ebony fingerboard with dot inlays. Sealed chrome tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width. 25.5” scale.
Electronics: Taylor Expression System 2 w/ 1 x high, 1 x low, 1 x volume control.
Weight: 4 lbs 11.2 oz
Playability/Sound: The soft v neck on this guitar plays very easily, especially chording in the first few positions, and the satin finish allows it to move with very little friction. The response is incredibly punchy for it’s body size and provides a decent low end, excellent mid-range and an extremely articulate high end that stays clean even with aggressive playing.
Case: Includes original gigbag.
