The Death By Audio Photo Modulator is a unique little tool made for players who want hands-free, wild expression control without a treadle. Perfect for experimental musicians, synth users, or pedal lovers who want to interact with their setup in new ways, this compact controller uses light-any light-as the source for modulation. Shine a flashlight, strobe, or stage beam on the sensor and it simulates toe-down on an expression pedal. Shade it and it acts like heel-down. That means you can control filters, delay time, pitch, and more, all by waving your hand or changing lighting conditions. At its core, this is a passive expression controller that behaves just like a traditional expression pedal, but with zero moving parts. It uses a cadmium-sulfide photoresistor wired into a standard right-angle ¼" jack, so it's ready to plug into pedals like the Evil Filter, Crossover Fuzz, ROOMS, or any other effect that accepts expression input. No power needed. No switches. No fuss. You just aim it toward or away from light and let your rig react in real time.
