Description

The EAE Mirror House V2 is built for players who want their pitch effects to go far beyond traditional harmony or chorus sounds. It's ideal for experimental guitarists, sonic tinkerers, and anyone building ambient, noise, or psych-influenced soundscapes. Originally a custom pedal for the band Pile, this new V2 release refines the original's character while expanding its feature set with more control and better tracking.

At its core, Mirror House V2 creates two pitch-shifted voices that move symmetrically around your dry signal. The Shift, Detune, and Flutter modes give you everything from lush chorusing and detuned width to envelope-driven pitch dives and strange, dissonant clusters. Animate adds movement to the pitch voices via envelope or random LFO modulation depending on the mode. With a Mix knob to dial in dry/wet balance, voice blending control, and quantized shifting up to an octave, there's a lot of range here for creative sound design, whether you're going subtle or unhinged.

The layout is straightforward and the controls feel intuitive once you're in the flow. Flutter mode is especially fun for adding motion that doesn't sound overly synthetic, and the reduced noise floor in V2 makes it cleaner in complex setups. We've found this version to be a solid upgrade, and a great pick for anyone looking to explore more dimensional or chaotic pitch effects without needing multiple pedals to get there.

Controls:

- Mix - relative level between the dry and effected signals. Turn clockwise to increase the amount of pitch-shifted signal. At maximum, no dry signal is present.
- Amount - amount of static pitch shifting. Turn clockwise to move the two voices symmetrically away from the original signal. The upper voice increases in pitch, while the lower voice decreases in pitch.
- Animate - additive modulation applied to the Amount control. Turn clockwise to increase the amount of modulation. In Shift and Detune modes, this is envelope-based. In Flutter mode, this is a random LFO.
- Voices - mix between higher and lower pitch voices. In the center position, this is an equal mix. Turn clockwise to focus on the higher voice, and turn counterclockwise to focus on the lower voice. This will also influence the directionality of envelope motion.
- Mode (toggle) - offers three modes:
- Shift (Up): the Amount knob sets the amount of pitch shifting, in quantized semitone steps up to an octave.
- Flutter (Middle): functions similarly to Detune mode, but the Animate knob controls a random LFO. Good for chorus and vibrato sounds.
- Detune (Down): the Amount knob shifts each voice from unison up to a semitone.
