Description
The EarthQuaker Devices *Towers Soundscape Generator* is a stereo reverb and filter pedal designed for players who want to move past traditional ambiance and into full-blown sonic exploration. If you're a sound designer, ambient guitarist, or experimental musician who thrives on texture and movement, Towers gives you the tools to carve out entire worlds of reverb-driven atmosphere. With a lush cathedral-style reverb core and multiple modulation paths, it's more than a pedal, it's an instrument built for shaping time and space.
At its heart is a matrix of micro-echoes feeding into a massive ambient engine, with a resonant low-pass filter that cuts in and out of the delay and reverb chains. You get three ways to manipulate the filter: Manual mode gives you stereo-filtered control, Envelope mode responds to your playing dynamics, and LFO mode slowly sweeps frequencies across the stereo field. Add in the Stretch footswitch, which slows the entire processing system for lo-fi, pitch-warped trails, and you've got a soundscape tool with endless ambient potential. It also features eight user presets, top-mounted jacks, and true bypass switching.
Towers is responsive and intuitive enough to be part of a live rig, but deep enough to be the centerpiece of a studio setup. Whether you're sending your signal through a basic board or pushing it through amp sims and loopers, this pedal will find its place. We've spent time with it ourselves and can say, once it's on, it's hard to turn off.
