Fender's all-new American Ultra Telecaster is a bold and extensive leap forward to Fender's line of electric guitars. This is a truly state-of-the-art instrument, and every facet of its design contributes to it being one of the best-playing, best-sounding Fenders yet. Start with the all-new "Modern D" neck profile, which includes rolled fretboard edges, an Ultra Satin neck finish, and a tapered heel. The new neck shape yields maximum playing comfort so you can play this Telecaster for hours on end. However, perhaps the most significant feature of the American Ultra is its 10" to 14" compound radius fingerboard. This makes playing at any point on the fretboard effortless, since it gets flatter the higher up you go, for easier bends and accurate soloing in the high register and a more substantial in-hand feel when playing chords closer to the headstock. A few other playability enhancements of note are deluxe cast/sealed locking tuners (all with short posts) and all-new body contouring. Plus, the guitar's Ultra Noiseless pickups and S-1 switching with treble bleed circuit help deliver seemingly endless tonal possibilities, all without hum. And thanks to a Fender premium molded hardshell case, your instrument is always kept safe and sound.
