Description
A vintage Magnatone 3HGA tube combo amp--one of the few remaining classic amps from a collection we purchased, months ago, from legendary guitarist G.E. Smith. Manufactured by the Dickerson company in the late 1940s to early 1950s, the 3HGA is typical of its era, with a thick, midrange-focused tone and raw overdrive at higher volumes. It has been recently serviced with new filter caps and a grounded power cord. Beyond that the amp looks like its seen some other work over the years. Given that these Dickerson amps went through many undocumented circuit revisions, it is difficult to know which how many of the vintage components are original. That said, beyond the new filter caps and cord, all components are era-correct. This amp has been cleaned and serviced. It is fully functional and sounds great.
