Built in Bozeman, Montana by Gibson's expert luthiers, the Raven shares the same square-shouldered dreadnought silhouette as the Hummingbird, but trades in traditional ornamentation for gothic elegance. The body pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides, supported by traditional scalloped Advanced X-bracing for warm resonance, crisp articulation, and surprising dynamic range. It's a tonal palette suited to both delicate fingerpicking and aggressive strumming; ideal for acoustic ballads, unplugged performances, or studio sessions where nuance matters.
The mahogany neck features a comfortable Round profile with a bound ebony fretboard, 16" radius, and 20 standard frets. Topped with mother-of-pearl star inlays and finished off with a raven-skull-inlaid headstock, the Raven ensures effortless playability and rock-solid tuning thanks to its Grover Rotomatic tuners and TUSQ nut and saddle. And with the L.R. Baggs Element VTC +4 system pre-installed, this acoustic-electric delivers exceptional amplified tone with intuitive, soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls and an added 4 dB of output for extra punch when needed.
Visually, the Raven is unforgettable. Its ebony finish and double raven-themed pickguards make a bold first impression, while the matching tailpiece accent and headstock inlay provide thematic continuity and a haunting sense of purpose.
