Gibson's Custom Shop 1964 Trini Lopez Standard Reissue is a faithful recreation of the first Trini Lopez ever to leave the Gibson factory over half a century ago. This beauty has been painstakingly vintage-spec'd to make it almost indistinguishable from a genuine '64 Trini Lopez, and it's an outstanding instrument.
The luthiers in Gibson's Custom Shop meticulously scanned, measured, and studied every aspect of the original Trini Lopez Standard to create a top-notch, period-correct reproduction. Sporting iconic diamond f-holes, an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic Bridge, and black Top Hat knobs, this Trini Lopez Standard Reissue plays, looks, and feels just like a golden era Gibson.
This Gibson features a 3-ply maple and poplar body that projects an unbeatable rock tone with plenty of midrange snarl and top-end bite. Its high-quality semi-hollow construction gives it an impressive amount of resonance, and it projects beautifully both acoustic and amplified.
The neck on this guitar plays like a dream, with its all-mahogany build, chunky Authentic '64 Medium "C" profile, and silky-smooth Indian Rosewood fingerboard. It's also incredibly stable, courtesy of its genuine hide glue fit. Complete with an awesome non-reverse Firebird headstock, the neck on this axe screams rock 'n' roll.
Gibson paid extra attention to the electronics on this guitar which are spot-on to the original, giving it an authentic voice. With hand-wired CTS 500K Audio Taper Potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors, this guitar's internal signal path is a dead-ringer for that of an original '64 Trini Lopez Standard.
Powering this guitar is a pair of Custombucker Alnico III Humbuckers that churn out impressively accurate vintage-inspired tones. These pickups are incredibly dynamic - play delicately, and you'll channel a pleasantly sweet chime. Dig in hard with your right hand, and you'll conjure a howl of searing sustain for screaming leads and soaring bends.
