The Les Paul Custom was re-introduced in 1968 after a five-year hiatus, and became a favorite year for fans of two-pickup LP Customs. 1968 also say a 14-degree headstock pitch angle introduced to decrease string tension, as well as a solid maple top on a mahogany back - adding a bit of cut and clarity to a model that was previously all-mahogany. Otherwise, all of the staples of a Les Paul Custom are here in this guitar - Mother of Pearl block inlays, gold hardware, ebony finish, and multi-ply binding. And thanks to a pair of 68 Custom Humbuckers, it has authentic late-sixties Gibson tone to match its iconic looks.
