Description
This is the Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble; a limited-run twist on the classic 50s Les Paul Standard that adds a few cool vintage-inspired details. If you want that classic Les Paul feel but with something extra for both your eyes and your ears, this is a great choice. It's perfect for anyone looking for a collectible, pro-level instrument that stands out just a bit more than the usual Standard.
What sets the Double Trouble apart are its uncovered Burstbucker 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups with double white bobbins, giving it some real old-school attitude. Under the hood, you've still got the solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body, AA figured maple top, and a rounded 50s neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Hardware includes the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum stop bar tailpiece, vintage-style tuners, and those iconic gold Top Hat knobs. The finish is a "vintage" variation on the standard nitrocellulose lacquer, so each one has that slightly faded, played-in look right out of the case.
It feels exactly how a great Les Paul should: chunky, resonant, and lively. Playability is solid, and the controls are hand-wired with audio taper pots and Orange Drop capacitors for a smooth response. Each guitar comes in a hardshell case and is limited to just 500 per color. We like how this one keeps all the Les Paul magic but gives you just enough extra to make it feel special.
