Description
This is the G6131-TVP Power Jet Firebird w/ Bigsby Tailpiece in the very cool Firebird Red finish. The Power Jet is constructed in classic 1959 styling with a few modern touches including TV Jones Power’Tron pickups and a pinned Adjusto-Matic bridge. The Power Jet also ads strap locks and deluxe Gotoh locking tuners. These features make this the ideal Jet for a player looking for the classic Duo Jet look and sound but with more modern functionality. The Jet can be considered a solid body guitar because it’s constructed of a solid mahogany back, but due to a heavily chambered body and a 3 ply maple top the guitar retains some of the hollow body tone Gretsch guitars are famous for. Additionally the heavily chambered design makes the guitar very lightweight and well balanced. The duo jets play extremely well with great action and professional level fretwork. The Power’Trons are over are over-wound versions of the classic Filter’Trons with a hotter output with a much more pronounced midrange. They are bright and snappy with plenty of punch and sound great when played clean or with as much gain as you can throw at them.Though they may be better suited for high gain playing then the standard Filter’Trons they still have the rich and full clean tone that Gretsch guitars are known for. About B-Stock:
This is a “new old stock” B-stock Gretsch guitar. The guitar is essentially new with a couple of minor cosmetic flaws. It has a very small indentation in the finish at the middle of the neck that's about 3/8" long. There is also some minor finish hazing on the back of the instrument. These only show in direct light and do not compromise the stunning look of this guitar. Additionally, no documentation is included with the instrument. The guitar weighs 7 lbs 14 oz and the serial number is JT13125650, which dates the guitar to 2013. The guitar will ship as shown in the photographs with a complete professional setup.
