This is the very unique G6136I Irish Falcon model from the Gretsch professional series. This is a VERY cool guitar with amazing tone a sharp looks. The Irish Falcon takes features from a few different era’s. The tone bar braced body, “G” Cadillac tailpiece, and vertical headstock logo are from the 1956 era falcon but the fretboard inlay is more indicative of a 1957 model. The electronics are the in the more modern 1959 style with the tone switch circuitry and FilterTron pickups. The FilterTron's are phenomenal pickups that achieve authentic Gretsch character, aka “That Great Gretsch Sound”. They have a warm woody tone with great note definition, big round bass response and very clean and articulate high end. This guitar is brand new and ships with all the factory issued documentation and shipping container, deluxe hard shell case and Gretsch limited lifetime warranty . The Goal is Soul! Bono and Gretsch® recently collaborated on this updated version of the iconic green Gretsch® guitar known as the Irish Falcon™. Used extensively on U2's 2005 Vertigo tour, the G6136I incorporates classic Gretsch® Falcon™ specs, including an arched laminated maple body with multiple gold sparkle bindings, two-piece maple neck with ebony fingerboard, High Sensitive Filter'Tron™ pickups, Gretsch® Cadillac "G" tailpiece and lustrous Evergreen finish. Other features include mother-of-pearl hump block inlays with Bono's signature engraved at the 12th fret, gold plexi pickguard with "The Goal Is Soul" graphic, ebony-based Space Control™ bridge, Grover® Imperial™ tuners, gold sparkle bound fingerboard and headstock, and jeweled knobs.
