This is a used G6136T-LTV model Falcon in like new condition! It's been played a few times but is in 100% perfect condition. The guitar is a 2015 model. Please feel free to call any time with questions or for an in hand description.
This is the one, the absolute top of the line and tremendously cool Gretsch G6136T-LTV White Falcon. 1959 was a banner year for many guitar builders and Gretsch was no exception. In ‘59 Grestch streamlined the look of the falcon adding a mid-century modern vibe with the neo-classic thumbnail inlay and new headstock logo.The all new Filter’Tron pickups were standard issue on the ‘59 falcon as well as the new “tone switch” circuitry. What would be perhaps the most significant change to the Falcon was an unseen feature. What Gretsch would coin Trestle Bracing replaced the dual tone bar bracing of the previous models. The Trestle bracing is essentially 2 upside down “U” shaped wooden supports that run from the neck joint area to the bridge. This bracing adds mass and stability under the bridge and electronics dramatically increasing sustain and rejecting feedback while still retaining the classic Gretsch hollow body vibe. This feature set was short lived because by 1962, Gretsch had introduced the ElectroTone thin double cut body on for many models and would remain used on the Falcon throughout the 60’s and 70’s.
The 1959 features are recreated and even improved upon here in the new G6136T-LTV. This is the top of the line Falcon currently offered by Gretsch. It recreates the look, sound, and feel of an original '59 but with modern dependability and durability. There are just a few tweaks to the original design, the intonatable Adjusto-Matic Bridge is added and the "Zero Fret" Nut is removed. The voice of the guitar is clear and true with tight bass response and crystal clear treble. The humbucking TV Jones Classic pickups offer very low noise and sound fantastic clean but handle quite a bit of overdrive as well! The guitar is well suited for a multitude of playing styles from jazz to blues and rock & roll.
