This is the all new G6196T-59 Vintage Select Edition Country Club. This model is now recreated. Gretsch has recreated the beauty and complexity of the rare yet iconic Cadillac Green finish, now done in a genuine nitrocellulose lacquer. It’s a cool and luxurious finish with a deep luster and very subtle metallic shimmer. Those who know their Gretsch history recognize the Cadillac Green finish combined with gold hardware as one of the hallmarks of the Brooklyn era 1950’s both with guitars and drums. True to ‘59 specs, the G6196T-59 features trestle bracing, no “zero” fret and Grover Imperial Tuners. They’ve also added TV Jones Classic FilterTron pickups for authentic tone and aged body binding for an authentic vintage look

The TV Jones Classic pickups are a perfect match for this guitar. The tone is clear and strong with tremendous bass response that's very clean and musical and an articulate treble that's bright and snappy without a hint of "brittle" tone. These pickups, combined with trestle bracing makes for a very capable and versatile instrument that can move from clean and mellow jazzy tones to hard driving rock & roll with ease. The ‘59 spec County Club is a Gretsch in a class of it’s own with a more subtle elegance than the be-jeweled and sparkle bound Falcon models. It’s a striking and classy design the captures the mid century aesthetic of the era from which it came. The G6196T-59 is without a doubt one of the coolest guitars ever offered by Gretsch.

We are a long standing fully authorized independent Gretsch guitar dealer. This is a brand new factory first guitar and comes with the deluxe Gretsch hard case, all documentation and the Gretsch Limited lifetime warranty. If you have any questions at all please feel free to give us a call!
