Description

Hofner's 500/5 Reeperbahn bass is an old-school tone machine, perfect for players seeking a vintage-inspired hollow body bass. Nicknamed after the Reeperbahn area of Hamburg that sported numerous rock clubs in the '50s and '60s, this bass delivers a warm, classic thump reminiscent of rock 'n' roll's golden era.

The 500/5 Reeperbahn features a fully hollow body crafted with a spruce top and flame maple sides, giving it a bold and organic sound with deep lows, punchy mids, and clear highs. Its body measures 17" wide at the lower bout and 2.5" deep, giving it a more substantial feel, and its 30" scale length makes it easier to pull off dexterous fills and melodic runs. Playing this bass is incredibly fun - its sleek 3-piece flame maple neck fits the hand like a glove, and its rosewood fingerboard feels impeccable.

When plugged in, the Reeperbahn produces a delightful tone - its Diamond pickups give it a rich, woody, and especially 'thumpy' sound. While this bass is great for playing classic rock riffs, its dual volume knobs, pickup switches, and rhythm/solo switch give it plenty of sonic versatility. Just plug it into a vintage tube amp, and it'll sing like you wouldn't believe.

Complete with an ebony bridge, a Trapeze tailpiece, Teacup knobs, and a deluxe hardshell case, the 500/5 Reeperbahn is an excellent bass for Hofner fans looking for a masterfully crafted instrument.
