Description
The Ibanez AAD51CE is built for players who want the power and projection of a dreadnought but need the versatility of modern electronics for stage work. This one's especially solid for singer-songwriters and acoustic performers who need to cut through a mix without losing the natural warmth of an acoustic tone. Ibanez redesigned their dreadnought from the ground up with this Grand Dreadnought body-it's 5% larger than a standard dreadnought, giving you more volume and a fuller low-end response while staying comfortable to play.
The solid Sitka spruce top paired with sapele back and sides brings out strong fundamentals with clear highs and a warm midrange that works whether you're fingerpicking or strumming hard. The X-M bracing system underneath uses scalloped X-bracing with strategically placed tone and finger braces to move string vibration efficiently through the body. When you plug in, the T-bar undersaddle pickup translates that acoustic tone faithfully, and the AEQ-TP2 preamp gives you 2-band EQ and an onboard tuner right on the upper bout. The A.I.R.port-a specially designed secondary sound hole-helps you hear yourself better when you're playing, which we've found really helps with stage monitoring.
The okoume neck has a low oval grip that makes chord work comfortable, and the purpleheart fretboard and bridge add some visual character while contributing to the overall tone. The Advanced Access cutaway gives you clean access up to the 18th fret, and those Advantage bridge pins make string changes less of a hassle-they're easier to pull and won't get pushed in too far. We've had good experience with Ibanez's recent acoustic designs, and this one feels solid and stage-ready right out of the case.
