Don't worry, though - even though this guitar has a smaller, lighter body, it still offers an excellent tone. Crafted out of a premium piece of Nyatoh, this guitar produces a resonant, woody tone, with a strong mid-low end.
Just like the body, the neck on this guitar is incredibly comfortable and feels wonderful in-hand. In order to make this neck perfect for a wide range of styles and players, Ibanez selected a very neutral shape for the neck profile. Not too thick and not too thin, this 3-piece roasted maple and bubinga neck is stable, durable, and an absolute joy to play. And with its heat-treated birdseye maple fretboard, this axe has loads of attack and sustain, making it perfect for high-octane shredding.
The real powerhouse of this guitar, though, is the set of R1 single coil pickups in the neck and the Q58 humbucker in the bridge. These pickups work together to pump out a clear, defined tone, with an exceptional balance across the whole frequency spectrum. The lows are thunderous without being muddy, the mids are nice and punchy, and the highs are chiming and articulate. And, thanks to Ibanez's meticulous pickup construction, these pickups operate with extremely little noise, allowing them to work extremely well with both digital and analog effects.
