The Ibanez Q (Quest) series represents a ground-up rethink of the headless concept, engineered to maximize tone, ergonomics, and performance rather than simply adapting existing models.
The QX52 features a compact, lightweight Okoume body paired with a Parallel Wizard neck constructed from roasted maple and bubinga for enhanced stability and durability. Designed with a consistent 19mm thickness throughout its length, the neck offers a fast, controlled feel that suits players who prefer a higher playing position. The ebony fingerboard, paired with jumbo stainless steel frets, delivers smooth playability and precise articulation while ensuring long-term reliability.
Custom-designed Q58 humbuckers provide a clearly defined and balanced voice across the frequency spectrum, maintaining clarity under high gain while remaining responsive for clean and dynamic playing. The dyna-MIX10 switching system with Alter Switch unlocks ten tonal variations, expanding the guitar's versatility well beyond a traditional dual-humbucker layout. The Mono-Tune bridge system allows for wide intonation adjustment and easy setup for alternate tunings, while the proprietary custom string locking mechanism simplifies maintenance without requiring specialized strings.
Unique design elements such as inward-slanted frets enhance ergonomics for technical players, and luminescent side dots improve visibility during low-light performances. An Ibanez gig bag is included for convenient transport and protection.
