The 5-piece roasted maple and walnut neck is heat-treated for stability, so it handles temperature and humidity changes better than most. We've had good experience with the build quality on these-the okoume body keeps the weight reasonable while delivering a bright, solid fundamental tone, and the MR5S bridge lets you adjust string spacing by up to 3mm total to match your playing style.
