An overdrive that can go from classic sounding to overly fat and full, the Blue Note OD from J Rockett Audio Designs is a versatile pedal with great tone from top to bottom. At its heart, this pedal is a simple overdrive with a few ways to define its tonal character. The volume, gain, and tone are all straight-forward, while the Fat knob adds in some additional low end and midrange to chunk up its sound a bit more. The Hot switch is extra step up in volume, gain, and adds some extra juice to the low midrange that gives it a little more power and body, perfect for classically bold blues tones as rich as the pedal’s vibrant color.
