JAM built the Fuzz Phrase Si around carefully selected BC107 silicon transistors, tuning the circuit specifically to match their response. What you get is a fuzz that's harmonically rich, with long, musical sustain and just the right amount of top-end clarity. The Gain and Level knobs give you wide-ranging control over how hard the pedal hits and how it sits in your mix. There's also an internal bias trimmer, pre-set at 4.5V, so the tone is locked into its sweet spot right out of the box.
It's compact, runs on standard 9V power or battery, and plays well with dynamic pickers and volume knob riders. We've found it easy to drop onto a board and get consistently great results, whether you're stacking it or running it straight into a clean amp.
