With a rich history beginning shortly after the turn of the century in 1911, it’s no wonder why the Martin 000-18 has become known as a timeless classic, and here, in the form of the 000-18E Retro, it expands its live performance capability even further. Built on the foundation of great sounding guitars that Martin has been developing for over 100 years, the 000-18E Retro’s pairing of integrity and tone position it near the top of the acoustic/electric list in terms of value. This model boasts some tried and true design aspects that will likely never change and a few modern improvements to insure your guitar will last a lifetime. This is a classic sounding Martin with excellent note definition and a very clear midrange. While its thinner body profile provides comfortable playing, its shorter scale (24.9”) has a slightly softer string action that lends credence to more articulate techniques like fingerstyle but also creates ample projection and stability for strumming. Equipped with Fishman’s fantastic F1 Aura Plus Retro electronics, you can take this fantastic model one step further on stage.
