Extremely rare, Limited Edition model & exceptionally clean for its age. This gorgeous 000-42ECB Eric Clapton is number 40 of only 200 made & features Brazilian rosewood for the back & sides. This stunning guitar was just recently acquired from a private collection of nearly 40 rare & vintage Martin guitars, including tenors as well as mandolins, ukes & banjos. Cosmetic Condition: Marvelous condition with only some mild surface scratches & just an ever so tiny bit of finish chattering along the treble-side of the neck near the first fret. Overall the guitar is exceptionally clean which we would rate as museum quality.
Neck: V-shaped mahogany neck with ivoroid binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with abalone snowflake & diamond inlays. Eric Clapton signature inlay in the 20th fret. Frets are clean with no wear. Bound headstock with Brazilian rosewood overlay & abalone floral inlay. Gold Waverly tuners with Butterbean buttons & diamond volute. 1 3/4" width bone nut; 24.9" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: OOO-size body in natural finish. Solid Sitka spruce top with ivoroid binding & abalone purfling. Tortoise pickguard & abalone rosette. Ebony bridge with abalone snowflake inlays. Compensated bone saddle & end pins with mother of pearl dot inlays. Brazilian rosewood back & sides with ivoroid binding & Herringbone center strip. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 4.9 oz.
