Martin’s OMCPA3 was a relatively short-lived model in the grand scheme of Martin’s long-standing history, but a fantastic guitar nonetheless. As it stands, this model is currently inactive and increasingly hard to find, but this guitar specifically boasts being the only one of its kind. This is the factory prototype that other OMCPA3s were modeled after. It is built from a tried and true combination of solid Sitka spruce and solid East Indian rosewood, a traditional pairing that provides excellent low end response, smooth and slightly subdued midrange, and a clean, crisp top end. The Performing Artist profile neck is a comfortable and easy transition for electric players, while the wider nut width provides a bit more fingerboard real estate for fingerstyle players. Although you may be able to find similar models, there will only be one prototype, so don’t miss your chance to own a piece of Martin history.
