The Mesa/Boogie High-Wire is a dual buffer and boost pedal designed to solve the two most common signal issues in a pedalboard setup- loss at the input and loss at the output. If you're running a larger board or using long cable runs, this pedal gives your signal the strength and clarity it needs to arrive clean and full at both your pedals and your amp. It's ideal for gigging guitarists or bassists who want to preserve tone consistency in demanding live setups, especially when switching between instruments or running long cables to the stage amp.
The input buffer is based on Mesa's discrete Class-A Stowaway circuit, which loads your pickups like a high-quality tube amp input would. The output buffer is a high-speed, low-noise op-amp design that drives long cables without tone loss. A footswitchable boost (up to +22dB) and an additional fixed +3dB level switch give you flexibility for solos or signal gain. Plus, there's a mute/tuner function, a dedicated tuner out, and an isolated effects loop that maintains consistent impedance for both your guitar and amp-especially helpful with time-based effects.
The High-Wire is built like a tank and does more than most buffers by also handling your gain structure and stage routing.
