This is the new Country Gentleman model G6122T-62 Vintage Select Edition from the Gretsch Professional Series. The G6122T-62 is most accurate reissue of the classic ’62 gent ever offered by the Gretsch! They’ve captured the vintage elegance of the “gent” perfectly while offering modern dependability and playability. The guitar now features a genuine nitrocellulose lacquer finish and TV Jones Classic Pickups. This guitar is constructed in the style of the classic "gents" of the early1960's. It features all the bells & whistles developed by Mr. Chet Atkins along with the ambitious designers at Gretsch. The ’62 spec Gent features simulated F-holes, “zero” fret and a rocking bar bridge. Gretsch slightly redesigned the dual mute system and it functions flawlessly. The tone switch circuitry used on new Gretsch guitars is also perhaps an improvement on the original designs with more useful tone roll-off settings. The humbucking TV Jones Classic pickups are the best choice if you’re looking for the most authentic vintage Gretsch tone. They offer classic warm and woody tone with tremendous balance and enhanced note definition. They sound fantastic clean but handle quite a bit of overdrive as well. Traditional Gretsch controls—including per-pickup volume controls, master volume, a three-way tone switch—allow you to create countless tonal variations for a personalized tone. The new Gretsch “Squeezebox” paper-in-oil capacitors deliver silky vintage high end. The standard “U”-shaped maple neck bears a 12”-radius ebony fingerboard with 22 frets and zero-fret for a memorable playing experience that works with any style. The sealed body with simulated F Holes minimizes feedback while providing for authentically vintage tone. A pinned “rocking” bar bridge reacts in concert with the Bigsby B6GVT vibrato tailpiece for stable tuning while the bone nut lets the strings slide freely without binding in the slots.
